Hey Link Crew Leaders, you are excused to leave your class early on Friday to help with the Freshmen tunnel for Odin's.  You are excused to leave your class at 9:20 that day.  Please let your teacher's know ahead of time.  Do not just get up and leave.

Letter


HEY LINK CREW LEADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

How was your first couple days of school?  We hope you are having a blast in your junior/senior years.   We also hope that the Freshmen are too!!

 

So…to help them do that, we would like you to check in on them.  Please call the original Freshmen on your list to check in with them.  Even if they did not attend orientation.  We would like you to do this by Sunday, September 9.  Here are some examples of what you can say:

            *How was your first week? (relate to them.  Maybe you had a similar experience)

            *Do you like your teachers? (Maybe you had some of the same ones, tell them)

            *Did you go to the football game? 

            *Tell them about Odin’s on September 14 and what to expect and how to dress

*Tell them about Homecoming Week and all the cool stuff that happens (Friday September 21)

*Whatever else you want to talk to them about

 

 

The Field Trip is coming up soon!!  Friday is your last day to bring me a permission slip and the money.  I have 15 spots left.  After Friday, I am going to ask for a refund from the company for any spots that are left.  Here is a list of who has signed up:

 Our first meeting is on September 17.  We are hoping to be in the theatre.  But we will see.  We will be going over the rest of the year and introducing you to the Academic Follow Ups that you will be teaching in the Freshmen History classes.  The rest of the meetings are to train you on that day’s lesson.  You will be teaching lessons on the following days in different periods, September 24, October 22 and December 3. We will give you a schedule on the 17th.   We planned them all on Monday morning collaboration days so that this will not interfere with sports.

Student Link Conference


Hey Link Crew Leaders and Families!! 





We have an amazing opportunity for you!  There is a Student Link Conference coming up in October that we would like to go to.  We want you to come too!!  This would be an opportunity for you to meet other Link Leaders from other schools, get additional training and have a lot of fun!



Here are the details:



  • Cost- $25.00 a person.  This covers part of the registration fee and our bus to the conference.
  • We can only take 40 students, so we are giving priority to those Leaders who are going to be Juniors.  First Come, First Serve so get your checks and permission slips to us ASAP!!
  • When- October 26, 2012.  It will be at Corona High School in Corona, California.
  • What Time-  We will have to leave super early because the conference starts at 8 am.  More details for this are to come.  It takes about an hour and a half to get there so plan on leaving around 6 am.  We should be back before 4,  the conference ends at around 12:30.  Then we will get lunch. 
  • Lunch:  We will stop somewhere for lunch on the way back, so please bring some money for lunch as well.



I know this seems far in advance, but these conferences fill up fast and we really want to take advantage of this opportunity.



Please return your permission slip and check ASAP to secure your spot.  Please make checks out to Valhalla Link Crew.  This activity is completely voluntary.  If you are going to be a Senior, still submit your paperwork and check and we will hold it until we confirm that space is available.   WE NEED EVERYTHING BACK BY THE FIRST DAY OF FINAL EXAMS!!!!!  Please see Mrs. Sellers in room 203 for a permission slip.
